It’s Good Friday, the day they use to commemorate the death and burial of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Remember why He came, what He did, and what He made you able to do because of His death….A topic for another day.
Today, I want to talk about His Promises. Having recently been hit with some very upsetting news, I had to practice everything that God has been teaching us these last few weeks. And above all, I had to pray His promises…even when the situation made me not want to pray at all!.
A promise is something that someone says, with the intention of fulfilling it. So what i will do today, is list a set of things that Jesus himself promised or the Word of God promised, with the intention of fulfilling it. It’s time to hold God to His Word.
Psalm 23:1. The Lord is my Shepherd. I shall not WANT.
Psalm 34:10. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
Matt 7:7-11 Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. You parents—if your children ask for a loaf of bread, do you give them a stone instead? Or if they ask for a fish, do you give them a snake? Of course not! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.
Matt 18:18-20 I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid. on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven. I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.
Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Mark 11:22- 23. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
John 15:7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Ephesians 3:20. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
Those are just a few. But everytime you go before God, you go with these promises. They are your Power of Attorney rights. Whenever you pray, God honours the promises that Jesus has made unto you.
I hope this will change the way you pray.
