Give us this day, our daily bread

Monthly Archives: March 2012

OK. We’re at the end of our journey of discovering our weapons. I know it’s been quite a mouthful, but I believe that God wants us to know who we are in Him  and how we should rightfully defend and fight for what He has promised us.

The bottom line is this: We are warriors. The moment we get this, I think life as we know it will be over. We don’t need to cry desperately when we’ve lost things or people… We don’t need to put up with certain attacks because the enemy throws them at us. We have to take our stand as God’s elect on this earth. The realm of the spirit is engaged in a spiritual war, a real spiritual war and it’s over the things that God has promised to His Sons. Remember that Satan fell from his original position and everything that God blessed him with (the ability to worship and glorify God in everything done), is now given to us. The devil cannot like you. You took his birthright! So understand that your days and nights, your past and future has and will continue to be messed with for one single purpose: So that the enemy can take you out. If he can take you out by making you fall into depression, financial struggles, sickness, or whatever, he will do just that.

You simply cannot allow him to ruin your life, your husband’s life, your children’s lives. You have to engage in the battle. You may ask “why do I need to fight if God is already fighting for me?” It’s a great question. The host of heaven is backing you. But the greatest secret is that they take their commands from their Chief Commander…and He makes those commands based on your actions and what you tell Him. He cannot operate outside of your choice for your life. Choice is the one thing He gave us. So if you choose.to continue in depression, there is nothing He can do. So how do you act in synchronization with God? Let’s recap what your weapons:

1.Weapon of Praise-Don’t be attacked by depression. Fight it!

2.The Weapon in your Mouth (your tongue)-Use your tongue to destroy the enemy’s stronghold and to create what you want to see in your life.

3.The weapon of the Word- your sword. Every mighty soldier needs a sword. Slice and dice the enemy with the Word of God.

4. The weapon of Righteousness-Your armor. You go into battle with the Blood of the Lamb. Know that you have been made righteous.

5.The weapon of Silence-Don’t be attacked by frivolous and futile people. Say this” I am purpose driven individual and I refuse to be disturbed or distracted by insignificant people.

6. The weapon of Truth- Fight the enemy with Truth. Not fact.

7. The weapon of Focus: Focus your sword and all other weapons on one demonic attack and take it down.

8. The weapon of Fasting: take your orders from Chief Commander. Open up your frequency for clear transmission, and once He speaks, act. You two must be in tune with each other.

I will tell you a secret. One of the reasons I write, is because I have gone through a lot of stuff. Stuff that many people don’t know. I know what it is to be kicked to the ground, and when not even sure how to get up, to get kicked again. Depression? Been there. Broken hearted? Been there too. Mentally debilitated, physically sick, “not a penny to my name” used to be my middle names. But I realize that those were the things that the enemy did to destroy my calling, and what God had planned for me. And if I did not engage, my death was sure> I say all of this to let you know that I know what you’re facing, because I’ve been there. But I’ve learned that the only way to get out of Lodebar, is to fight. Get up, out of your misery and determine that you will not stay where you are. That you will not sit by and wimp out while your relationships, your marriage, your person is under attack.

I like what the prodigal son said when He came to his senses:

How many of my father’s hired servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death!  I will set out and go back to my father- Luke 15: 17

God has a kingdom for his children that is rich with happiness, blessings and more. But we have to come to our senses. We have to realize that there is a real enemy trying to block that and we have to fight him.
So mighty Man/Woman of Valor, Pick yourself up with whatever little courage you have, and fight. Your victory is secure.

Ok…I know it’s late, but believe it or not, this is the first time that I am able to sit behind your computer.

I left fasting for last, because I know how difficult it would be to absorb this weapon for battle.

Many people fast for something. But I have yet to see in the bible, an event where someone fasted to receive something e.g. a relationship, or a car, or a husband. This is not to say that it is wrong, or that it is not in the bible, I just haven’t come across any.

I take my definition of fasting from Isaiah 58:6-9

Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:

to loose the chains of injustice

and untie the cords of the yoke,

to set the oppressed free

and break every yoke?

7Is it not to share your food with the hungry

and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—

when you see the naked, to clothe him,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8Then your light will break forth like the dawn,

and your healing will quickly appear;

then your righteousness will go before you,

and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

9Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;

you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

Our bodies like food. Really. We eat when we’re not even hungry. But just as our bodies like food, so do our spirits. Just as how what you feed your body makes it happy or sad, what you feed your spirit man will make it happy or sad. Fasting from food is a time that you set aside to tell your body to starve so that your spirit can be nurtured. When you fast therefore, your fleshly taste buds become hungry, and your spiritual taste buds become satisfied by the Word of God.

Fasting is a weapon for a number of reasons.

1. Every soldier needs to be able to be swift in the spirit. If you’re constantly feeding your flesh (through TV, Music, Food, Clothing, and other material things) you become carnally fat, and your spirit starves. In a spiritual battle, you need to be swift and able to move across territory. If your spirit is weak, then you will faint in the time of battle.

2. To detoxify your flesh and your spirit man. Look, face it! Sometimes we need a good cleaning out naturally and spiritually from all the toxins.

3.  To increase your faith. Once detoxified, you are able to increase in faith, because your temple is not blocked with wastes of worry and anxiety, fear, anger, etc. In fact, when you are truly fasting, your only focus is on God. So having this constant, continual communion with Him increases your faith.

4. Every soldier needs to be able to think clearly. I like to think of fasting as a binoculars. You don’t go into battle without binoculars to see what’s going on ahead of you. When you fast, you open your mind to think clearly about what God wants you to think. Think about it this way. If you eat a lot of carbs, you are likely to experience what I called “ethnic fatigue”, where you are prone to sleep or experience a siesta at leisure. It’s at that time that you are likely to miss the signals that your Commander in Chief is giving you. When you fast, it’s the reverse. your mind is alert and able to hear God clearly about his direction of how to operate in battle. Fasting therefore enables you to have direction, and clear understanding.

For me, fasting is about opening your frequency channels for crisp transmission to hear God more. It’s not so much about fasting to receive something, but when your frequency channels open up, you can see and hear in the spirit more than you can on a regular basis.

Now it’s important to know that the enemy will try very hard to deprive you of this weapon, because it enables you to see what he’s up to. And so he will give us temptations for foods and things that will hinder us from focusing on the spirit.

But if you can take this weapon by force, you will be surprise of all the benefits such as:

1. it lifts heavy burdens.

2. breaks yokes,

3. breaks spiritual attacks

4. brings healing.

Note you don’t need to fast to receive these things. Rather, WHEN you fast, your spirit is opened to increase your faith to receive these things.

So ask yourself… when was the last time you fasted for your growth.

Alright you’re almost ready to fight. But there are two other defensive tools that we need to deal with.

What God has laid on my heart today (like 15 mins ago) was “focus”. I don’t know ( in my own strength how Focus could be a weapon, but I believe that as I write God will reveal what He wants. (Seriously, I am getting this revelation as I write).

Have you ever seen one of these movies:

Someone following a guy with a gun. And the guy gets freaked out by it and shouts “who’s there?”. He sees a shadow in the background. But not long enough to shoot. Then out of the blue he sees another shadow. So out of sheer fear, he starts shooting all of his rounds into mid air, until he has no ammunition left. Realizing this, the perpetrator feels poised to attack. And so he does.

“The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much”-Eph 5:16.

You now have all the possible tools to have victory over the enemy, but you could be all guarded up and destined to fail if you don’t have Focus as your weapon. You may say that focus can’t be a weapon, but you need to make it your weapon. Meaning stand on guard with it.

When I say use Focus, it is because many times when we pray, we pray “amiss”. Meaning we simply send our prayer ammo shooting all over the place. Of course, this is because we are often overwhelmed with the fiery darts of the enemy. But it is very possible that when you pray over a lot of things, you lose track of what you’re actually asking God for. Then you get frustrated when you don’t see results, when the fact is you were not focused on one thing. An effective prayer is focused., just as an effective shooter is focused. When you pray, you want your prayers to hit bull’s eye, and so it’s not only important to pray with all of these weapons, but it’s important to focus all of your weapons on a specific target, or at most, a few targets. You must also focus all of your energy, faith, spirit and heart to see that thing manifest.

Here are some strategies to encourage your focus.

1. Seek God about what you’re seeking God for. Believe it or not, God knows what you need, and he will reveal it to you. You may be praying for a new car, when God wants you to focus on getting a family member saved. Whatever He says, listen to it, because it means He has orchestrated the heavens to move when you speak concerning the ASSIGNED prayer point He has given.

2. Write it down. If God says something to you, or if you have a few things that you are believing God for, write them down. It won’t kill you to write a post it  with five things and stick it above your bed or your night stand. Nor will it ruin your decor. But you need to make your prayer points as steadfast as possible so that you daily remind yourself and God what you’re believing for.

3. Make preparations for the target you are aiming at. If you want to see something die in your life, you have to prepare to shoot it. Not only must you stand and yell “die, die”. But you must focus all of your weaponry in that direction so that it will be shot down on impact.

I think I will stop there. But just know that your prayers need to be effective. Effective. You must be a sniper in the spirit and to be a successful sniper, you need to use Focus as your weapon.

“Stand therefore having your loins girded with truth”- Ephesians 6:15

For a long time, I battled with understanding how Truth could be a weapon. But during the last few days, I have finally learned how vital it is to have truth girding your loins.

First let’s despiritualize the scripture. “girding” literally means to buckle up. When you put on a belt, it’s usually to keep your innermost parts….innermost. That means, failure to wear a belt, could result in the indecent exposure of the very parts you are trying to hide. You also wear a belt to keep your self together. Otherwise what you’re wearing is likely to become undone.

Loins, simply mean your waist area.

In the spiritual realm, girding your loins, or buckling up your spiritual waist, is an effort to

1. cover your natural self. There are times when emotions-hurts, anger, bitterness, etc. will want to rise up from your loins. At that time you need to make sure you are girded.

2. keep yourself in tact. This is when you’re about to become unravelled, or deterred by what other ‘natural’, ‘unbelieving’ folk will say.

To use Truth as a weapon then, means to constantly cover your natural self so that your flesh stays “under”. It also means keeping yourself in tact, so that you don’t become unravelled.

I need to differentiated between Truth and Fact here. Fact, is what the reality shows. For example, the fact of the matter is that you can barely make ends meet. Or the fact the matter is that the man you’re in love with is acting like an idiot. If you lace yourself with facts, then the enemy is likely to weaken you, because like it or not, Facts work in his favour.

Truth however, is what the spiritual network shows about the issues in your life. In essence, Truth is the only thing that matters when you are in a battle. Many of the battles that were fought in the old testament were borderline impossible. The soldiers would look around and see with their natural eyes, that they were losing. But Truth said that they were going to win. And so, come what may, they used “Truth” to carve their way to victory.

In essence then, Truth is an application of faith, and  the Word of God in your life. When you are girded with Truth there is nothing that can stop you.  So what you need to do is not listen to the facts. Focus on the Truth.

Here are some facts and truths to remember

Fact:Your weather report says that your day is going to be cloudy.

Truth: God turns your cloudiness into dancing.

Fact: The man that God has promised you is acting like a fool.

Truth: God is able to soften hearts at His will.

Fact:  You have cancer and you may die.

Truth: God will not let you die, until you have fulfilled purpose.

Know that for every fact that you can think of, there is a truth. As a soldier engaged in battle, you must strategically and quickly look past fact, and figure out what is the truth of the matter. Once you know the truth, the enemy cannot use facts to weaken you. Because you know that whatever he is saying is not the final verdict of the issue you’re facing. By knowing The Truth, you are more than able to win. So gird up your loins with truth.

 Joshua 6:

8 When Joshua had spoken to the people, the seven priests carrying the seven trumpets before the LORD went forward, blowing their trumpets, and the ark of the LORD’s covenant followed them. 9 The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark. All this time the trumpets were sounding. 10 But Joshua had commanded the army, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!” 11 So he had the ark of the LORD carried around the city, circling it once. Then the army returned to camp and spent the night there.

This weapon is by far the hardest weapon for many of us, because in actuality many of us simply talk too much. Now we’ve dealt with using your tongue as a weapon, and that weapon is still very much necessary in warfare.

Silence is one of the deadliest weapons a person could ever use. Have you ever been in a conversation with someone who tried many ways to ‘unnerve’ you? Have you ever tried to remain silent when they spoke? It’s the most mind boggling thing to your Enemy when He doesn’t know what you’re thinking and when you won’t even give him the response he’s looking.

I believe that Jericho’s wall is an interesting example of silence as a weapon. The command was simple, walk around Jericho wall, don’t shout, talk, yawn, utter a sound, until the seventh day. Why did God want the Israelites to take this route? Because He had already promised them the land was theirs. And once that promise was made, it would have been easy for them to boast to the entire world what God was doing. Who doesn’t like to show off when they know something good is going to happen?

But if they had uttered a single word they would have alerted their enemies about the plan of God, and they could have very well lost everything.

I can tell you right now, that God is always up to something. And you can bet your bottom dollar that it concerns you. But there are times when you have to “Be Still and KNOW that He is God”. That means that there are times when you just need to keep quiet and await the expectations of God.

When to be quiet.
Now we’ve talked about using your mouth so it’s important to know when being quiet is necessary.

1. Stay quiet when you already know with a certainty that God has already fixed the situation. This means, be quiet when you have a calm assurance that God is fighting your battles and you have absolute faith that He will see you through.

2. When the enemy throws a blatant lie in your face through a friend or colleague or someone to unnerve you. Your friend may have your best interest at heart, but he or she may not have the faith that you do to believe for what you believe. Don’t waste your breath trying to explain.

3. Stay quiet when you don’t know the intentions of those around you. Listen here, everyone on earth does not like you. Don’t be deceived. There are some people assigned by the Enemy to take you out. And when you tell them your dreams, confidences, hopes, etc, they are either messengers to another demonic leader, or they are destroyers of your vision. That is, they will pray to destroy your vision once you tell them about it. You must discern when those around you are for you or against you.Bottom line, Pookie ‘n’ them don’t need to know what God told you He would do. Everyone does not need to know His plans for you.

I think I’ve covered all the points that God wants me to cover. If I think of anything else, I will update the blog. But rest assured that God is working out your victory. However, SHOUT about it only when He tells you to. Trust me the shout will be sweeter!

2Cor:5:21

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin,[a] so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

I cannot begin to tell you how many people tell me that they can’t pray because they don’t go to church. It’s amazing. Or that they cannot pray because they messed up in one way or the other. I make no excuses for sin, but the enemy will continually hit you with a hammer to make you feel that you are not righteous enough to go before God. So what do you do? Instead of praying for yourself, you run to someone whom you think is more ‘spiritual’ than you.
Can I tell you something? I have learned this the hard way. Don’t depend on anyone to pray for you. I am not saying that the prayers of others for you don’t matter. Because sometimes you need someone to agree with.  But many times when people say that they are “praying for you”, 90% of the time they forget. Each of us has her own loads to deal with, and even with the best intentions, we can forget to pray for others.

Getting back to the point, no one can pray for your situation quite like you can. No one. You know you. And you know exactly what you want, because God has placed His spirit inside of you to help you articulate your desires. Even as you are learning to use the Word of God, you can still use the little that you know to go before God.

The enemy will tell you that you can’t pray, you’re too tired to pray, your prayers don’t make sense when you have unforgiveness. It’s important to understand that anything or any voice that hinders you from praying, is not of God. God is not a condemning God. To counter this, you must muster up the energy and find scriptures that tell you that God has made you righteous. Whatever sin is hindering you from praying, deal with it. As long as you have been born again and baptized into Christ, the Word of God says that you are now clothed in his righteousness. That does not mean that you won’t make a mistake or fall out of line, but as long as you are in Christ you are clothed in his Righteousness.

Therefore, when you pray, God does not see your flaws, your cracks, your mistakes, He sees your Righteous garment. This is why when we pray, we say “In the name of Jesus”, When we present that argument, God’s covenant with His son, becomes His covenant with us, because we are in His Robe of Righteousness.

So here’s the challenge. Even before you start praying, put on your armor. The robe of righteousness will shield you from condemnation attacks of the enemy. Tell him

1. I have been bought with a price.

2. I belong to God and I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

3. I am redeemed by the blood of Jesus

4. I am forgiven of all my sins.

5. I am the elect of God,

6. And when I pray, my prayers hit heaven as Bull’s eye because I am made righteous.

Once you have done that, start your battle of prayer.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

It has been told that if you want to hide something from man, put it in a book. There’s something about human nature that makes us dread reading, especially when it involves reading the word of God.

Reading the word of God, and more so, studying it, is one of the deadliest weapons a believer can have. Why? Because it tells you how to defend yourself against your opponent in times of adversity.

Let’s think about it this way. Your phone bill. Have you ever suffered from a super ‘phone bill’. I mean one that was way above what you expected it to be? Usually, when you get a phone bill that’s out of your expectation it’s because you broke some rule that you didn’t know existed until you committed the crime. And then when you call customer service they tell you that the details are in the contract.

The enemy is able to defeat us when we do not know the Word of God. The Bible says that  ”[my] people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”. The worst thing that could happen to a believer is not knowing what the Word says about him. If he knew, he would know which doors not to open, which paths to take, and a lot of troubles could be avoided. But ignorance, sets us up for disaster, steers us off course and we places us in harm’s way.

The Word of God has life. It is not just a manual, but it actually is the troubleshoot, the database, the file cabinet, the record keeper of everything past, present and future. If you want to know how to talk to someone that has offended you, you can find it in the Word of God. If you want to know how to love someone that you don’t feel like loving, go to the Word. If you want to know why you shouldn’t give up, the Word will give you copious examples of men who did and did not and their outcomes.

Many times when we read the bible, we do it because we feel guilty as Christians, because we know we should be reading it. But there is nothing wrong with using the Scriptures specifically. In fact, using the Word when you pray, reminds God of what he has done in the past and because He is not a man to lie, He has to commit to the same promise for you in the present.

So here is my challenge to you. As you are going through this season of your life, pick up the weapon of the Word and arm yourself with scriptures relevant to your circumstance. If you do not know how to find those scriptures, use the Strong’s Concordance to help you find what you’re looking for. For example. Look up “fear” and then look at the scriptures that address fear, until you find one that ministers to you.  Once you do, WRITE IT DOWN in your own notes. Memorize it too. Now when you pray, use this scripture to

1. Remind God of what He said. (Psalm 138:2 says He honours His Word above His name).

2. Silence the enemy (Matt 4:1-11, Jesus uses what was ‘written’ to shut Satan up.

3. Encourage yourself. I was listening to a message by Caroline Leaf who talked about what the Word does to a person and what toxic thoughts do. Your spirit is a vacuum for spiritual information. When the Word goes into the spirit of a person, it yields faith. If the Word does not go in however, something else is getting in through our natural senses. That something is normally rooted in fear. Once fear gets into your spirit, you are unable to fight properly.

So this is why we need to use the Word of God. Meditate on it. It doesn’t matter if you only grasp one verse all week. Use it against the enemy. He is terrified of the Word of God.

Ok, before you begin to read, let me just apologize, cuz this is going to be kind of long. But I promise you, knowing this weapon is imperative to your existence.

Proverbs 18:21 says

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

and James 3:

4Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth.

5Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth!

6And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

It’s the smallest member of your external body. But my! What damage it can kindle. The bible says that what’s in your mouth can set on fire the whole course of nature. But we often misuse our tongue in sheer ignorance.

Let me explain what happens when we use our mouths. Have you ever said something to someone and then it ended up 25 people after that one person you told? Or have you ever spoken out of anger, and the person receiving your words got hurt? Or you said something to someone, and it brightened her whole day. That’s in the natural realm. When your mouth speaks, what you said has the potential to travel to places you never expected it to. You can bring life and happiness to people through what you say, or you could bring death and pain through what you say.

It means then that your tongue has a creative power. And just as it operates in the natural, so it does in the spiritual. Think about it, God always “SAID” something, when He wanted something specific to happen. He gave you that very power. Unfortunately, what we normally do with our tongues is use it contradictory to the Word of God. Most of the times we speak death to ourselves, our bodies, our future. How’s so?

Ahem: ” I don’t know if I can make it another day in this”
“OMG, I swear I’m gonna die if I hear one more word”

” I will be so broke until the next time I get paid”

You just nullified anything that you prayed for before!!!!

All of those words bring death. Therefore, if our tongues have creative power, we should use them to create what we want to see. And we must use our mouths on the right things and in the right way.

Now in this post, I am talking about using your mouths in prayer and warfare. Please hear me, you cannot pray effectively without opening your mouth.
There are a few ways that I have learned how to use my mouth:

1. Use it to Profess- That means to make a declaration of what you want to see happen before it happens.

2. Use it to declare or decree- In this case, a declaration, or a decree requires authority. Only those with kingly authority declare, and honey you’ve been made a royal priesthood. So you stand up against what the enemy is doing to you, and you decree change over your circumstance. NB, a decree is made over whatever you consider your ‘territory’ e.g. your house, your family, your sphere of influence, your workplace.

3. Use it to Pray- The word ‘pray’ means to ask. Simple. It does not require any deepness. You ask God for what you want. Even if you think He already knows what you want. It is humbling to you and to Him that you can ask. Don’t pray in your head! Also, ministering spirits pick up your prayers and activate them into harvest.

4. Use it in tongues- Tongue speaking is not for the spiritually deep. Paul says in the bible it is for edifying yourself. Tongue speaking activates your spirit, particularly when you feel down, depressed or lost. You begin to pray in a heavenly tongue when you don’t have words to articulate your feelings. You also use it when  only  God needs to hear what you say. The enemy does not understand your heavenly language and so speaking in tongues is a divine conversation that only you and God (mostly God) understands, But whatever you are saying, God hears exactly what you need, even if you don’t get it.

5. Use it in Singing, Praising- we’ve gone through this before.

6. Use it to engage the enemy: If someone came up to you and took your keys and said that your house, your family and everything in between was theirs, what would you do? You cannot sit down and watch the enemy destroy your life. You cannot sit down and bask in your self-pity or your tears. You’ve got to fight back. Engage him in battle and let him know that you are going to fight for what God has promised you.

When used correctly, your mouth can do extreme damage to the enemy. So use your mouth productively.

The word ‘praise’ means to give thanks.

It is stupid, absolutely stupid to think that giving thanks to God works, especially when everything around you seems to suggest otherwise. But Praise is one of the deadliest weapons that you could ever have. Why? Because it confuses the enemy. Can you imagine being on a battle field with someone, and instead of pulling out a sword or a gun, you pull out a boom box and start to dance and sing as if crazy? Your opponent will wonder what’s wrong with you!

In the spirit realm, it’s the same. The enemy knows that you cannot physically see your breakthrough and he will take advantage of this little fact to make you think that what you are praying for is not going to manifest. In fact, you all would agree that you normally only give thanks when you have received something tangible. Therefore, when you give thanks despite not seeing your breakthrough, the enemy is totally dumbfounded.

Now it’s important to know that every weapon in war, must be used strategically, or they can sometimes have no effect. I can give you a whole lot of scriptures to back this up, but from my own experience, I can testify that praise is the best weapon when

1. you are about to go into depression

2. when someone opposes what God has promised you

3. when you are about to get frustrated

4. when you find yourself comparing yourself to someone who has something you don’t have, but want/need

5. when you are financially distressed.

6. when you are hearing voices that you are not going to make it, or that you lose.

There are others. The key is to discern when you need to use this weapon. At your very worst, if you cannot think of what weapon to use, put praise into effect.

How to praise: (Sorry but I got to go there for a bit)

I know you think praising is easy, but it’s important to remember that Donnie McClurkin, Hezekiah Walker, Marvin Sapp, are not YOUR WEAPONS OF PRAISE. They can help you but YOUR PRAISE is YOUR WEAPON. You must use your own mouth to praise. The devil is not attacking those singers, he is attacking you. So even if your voice is not as great as these wonderful singers, it is imperative that you use your own praise to confound the enemy.

If you read Psalm 150, it says this

 Praise the LORD!

   Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the LORD!

Praise involves

1. Your MOUTH- you have to open up your mouth. Declare that God is good, tell Him thanks over and over again.

2. Your hands- you can clap, raise (as in war), wave, shake (with cymbals)- but everytime you clap your hands, you literally shake the realm of Guck. And whatever is stuck there gets shifted into your realm. (ummm. ps: in case you’re wondering where I am getting all of these from, I am a worship leader as well. It is my job to know how praise works)

3. Shout- Your mouth again. (the hebrew is Shabach). Shouting out “thank you!” resonates not only to God, but to the host of heaven. You call God’s army to defend you. And you continuously confuse the enemy’s camp.

4. Play an instrument. You do not need to know how to play any instrument. You are an instrument. You are an organ, you are a trumpet, you have vocal ‘strings’, you have feet, you can whistle as a flute. Every part of you is capable of making rhythm before God. Play your instruments in the bathroom, in your car, where ever!

5. Dance- I don’t care if it’s ballet, ballroom, hip hop, battle. When you dance FOR God, the enemy trembles. (Remember that Lucifer was the chief instructor of music. When he fell, he lost the privilege to praise and worship God. And as a slap in his face, God gave that privilege to you)

When you put these together you get what is called the “Tep’hillah” praise, which is a combo of tactics that the enemy cannot possibly understanding.

God said that He will use the foolish things of the world to confound those that think they are wise. I know doing any of these when you feel like things have lost, doesn’t make sense. But put it to the test and you will see what happens.

Ephesians 6:10-18 reads

10.Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Re-read that paragraph of scripture again, now placing strict emphasis on the words that I’ve put in bold, and the words that are italicized. If you notice, that the words that are in bold, are militant. And the words that are italicized represent battle wear.

Many of us have been believing God for stuff. It’s the norm of believers today to pray when the going gets rough. But as I was praying today, I saw a bit of heavens (nb. I am not trying to be super spiritual here. But I’ve come to know that God reveals some of his best secrets when you rise early to commune with him). What I saw a glimpse of was a whole lot of ‘guck’ floating around in mid-air. I asked the Holy Spirit (My Jehovah Shammah) what that was about, and He revealed to me that those were prayers that were never answered.

Many times, we start out praying for something, and then after about 24 hours or 5 days maximum, we STOP praying for the thing. We might not stop believing, but we STOP praying. And then after a while we stop believing God is going to answer our prayers. What I saw this morning in my spirit, was that God hears our prayers and He responds. But from the time he responds to the time we see the blessing, there is a supernatural fight going on in this realm of “GUCK”.  So you’ve got to P-U-S-H (pray until something happens).

Believe it or not, there are principalities out there, that want to steal your blessing. They don’t need your stuff. But stealing your blessing ensures that you stop believing in God. That is their end goal. The bible says the ‘effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous avails much’. That means once you start believing God for something, you CANNOT stop until you see it MANIFESTED. If you stop, it will get stuck in the realm of “GUCK”.

Now I want to challenge you, because many of us believe in a ‘peaceful’ Christianity, and there is nowhere in the Bible that God has called us to be peaceful when it pertains to Kingdom things (Please do not go to work and start cussing out your Boss. That’s not what I am talking about). But when it comes to our lives, the things and people that we love, we must understand that there is a BATTLE going on and we must ENGAGE in it. God has given us every necessary piece of armor to fight. He (Jehovah Nissi) have already declared that your victory is sure. But there are principalities and authorities in various spiritual realms who will still try to resist you into believing that what God has for you is not really yours. So you must fight and reinstate what God’s word has said.

I am talking about taking a militant stance. Now God has given us a host of weapons to do this.  Some of the weapons are in our mouth; all of them are in the Word of God. In order to secure victory we have to use these weapons.

1Corinthians 10:3-4 says

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;

And as God instructs this week, we’ll go through them. But I believe that some of the breakthroughs that we have been looking for have not come, simply because we have not been taking our stance as God’s elite army on earth.

Face it. You are a soldier! Armed and dangerous! And it’s time you engage the enemy and take your family, your husband, your stuff out of the realm of Guck!
